Upcoming Norwegian Viva to Feature 'Beetlejuice The Musical' as Headline Production Show

Norwegian Cruise Line has announced that the headline production show aboard its upcoming Prima-class ship Norwegian Viva will be “Beetlejuice” The Musical. The ship is scheduled to debut in the Mediterranean this August.

Marking the first time the musical will be performed at sea, the 90-minute Broadway adaptation of Tim Burton’s iconic film narrates the story of the Deetz family as they attempt to remodel a haunted house. The production will involve special effects alongside cutting-edge lighting and audio for an immersive evening experience.

Performers will dance and sing along to show tune classics including “Day-O” and “Jump in the Line (Shake, Senora),” while also evoking the nostalgia from the classic film. Michelle D’Amico, who was a cast member of the Broadway production of Beetlejuice, will join Norwegian Viva playing the role of Lydia.

Norwegian Cruise Line is known for its high entertainment standard, and has previously debuted shows including “Six,” “Jersey Boys,” “Footloose,” and more across its fleet. Most recently, the line debuted “Summer: The Donna Summer Musical” aboard Norwegian Prima, which includes a performance from “American Idol” season two finalist Kimberley Locke.

The ship will also feature favorites that returning Norwegian Cruise Line guests are already familiar with including Improv @ Sea Comedy Club and Syd Norman’s Pour House featuring rock-and-roll tributes to Fleetwood Mac, The Rolling Stones, and other legendary classic rock artists.
