Carnival Cruise Line Cancels a Month of Sailings on One Ship

Carnival Cruise Line has canceled a month of voyages aboard Carnival Glory in spring 2024 so the ship can go into dry dock.

In a letter to impacted guests, the line said “In our continuous effort to enhance our product, Carnival Glory has now been scheduled for dry dock and we’re sorry to inform you that your reservation has been cancelled.”

Those who have had their voyage canceled as a result of the dry dock will have the choice of rebooking on another voyage, with their cruise rate protected on a comparable sailing in a similar stateroom. They’ll also receive a $50 onboard credit (up to $100 per cabin) for that voyage.

Guests who don’t want to reschedule their cruise will automatically receive a full refund of the cruise fare and any pre-purchased packages after February 15, 2023. This also applies to Early Saver reservations. Refunds could take up to three weeks to process.

The letter concluded, “We sincerely apologize for this change and thank you for your understanding. We look forward to having you sail with us.”

The last major renovations Carnival Glory had was a 2022 wet dock (the ship was not taken out of the water) where the ship underwent cosmetic enhancements including the renaming of the coffee shop to JavaBlue Café, adding a Carnival Adventures Store, and expanding the casino.

The next dry dock will be a full dry dock at the Grand Bahama Shipyard in Freeport, Bahamas and take place from March 24, 2024, through May 1, 2024.

Currently, Carnival Glory is sailing from New Orleans through early next year. After her dry dock next spring, the ship will reposition to Port Canaveral to offer three- and four-night Bahamas cruises.
