The inaugural voyage for Carnival’s latest cruise ship, Carnival Venezia, will sail with two special guests on board.
Carnival President Christine Duffy and the cruise line’s Chief Culinary Officer Emeril Lagasse will join the vessel’s inaugural transatlantic sailing for part of the voyage departing Barcelona on May 29, 2023. The 15-day voyage will include stops in Malaga, Spain; Gibraltar; Lisbon, Portugal; Ponta Delgada, Azores, Portugal; and Halifax, Nova Scotia. It will end in Manhattan.
Passengers will be able to meet and interact with them while experiencing — for the first time — Carnival’s new “Carnival Fun, Italian Style” product. Program highlights include a Sail Away Party and Captain’s Venetian Toast with Christine and Emeril, guest appearances on The Wave Morning Show, a special fireside chat, and their participation in other events and entertainment.

And, of course, it wouldn’t be a sailing with Emeril without a cooking demonstration. Guests will be able to learn from the pro himself on the voyage’s first sea day. Spaces for the private cooking demonstration can be purchased once on board and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Proceeds will go towards St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Carnival Venezia will sail year-round from the Manhattan Cruise Terminal in New York City starting June 15th, and offer a wide variety of cruise options with 22 unique itineraries.
The ship will introduce a number of new venues to Carnival including the La Strada Grill with classic Italian street food, Frizzante bar serving bubbly drinks, the Gondola Lounge themed after Venice’s canals, and a Mexitalian fusion restaurant called Tomodoro.
Familiar favorites found on board will include the WaterWorks aqua park, Bonsai Sushi & Teppanyaki, JavaBlue Café, Guy’s Burger Joint, Cloud 9 Spa, the Serenity adults-only sundeck, and Dr. Seuss Bookville.
